Security Guard (TEST)
This position is exclusively for the 2025 Regina Refugee Hiring Event. To be eligible to apply, you must meet the following criteria:
- Arrived in Canada as a refugee (government or private sponsorship), applied for asylum after arriving in Canada (refugee claimant/asylum seeker), or were forcibly displaced. This includes individuals from countries such as Ukraine, Afghanistan, Iran, and others.
- Currently reside in Saskatchewan.
- Should be able to attend the event in-person in Regina on November 7th.
- Eligible to work in Canada (you must have a valid work permit, permanent residency, or citizenship).
- 18 years of age or older.

Job Description: Security Guard
Each Security Guard is responsible for performing their duties efficiently and in a positive manner acceptable to the Client, Paragon Protection Ltd and in accordance with all:
a)Company Policies
b)Post Orders
c)Federal and Provincial Statutes (i.e. Ontario Provincial Police, Human Rights Commission, Labor Laws, etc.).
Secruity Guards are responsible for the following:
a)Observe and Report.
b)Patrol client premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure physical security of doors, windows, and gates.
c)Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
d)Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
e)Answer telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information during non- business hours or when the switchboard is closed.
f)Monitor controls that regulate building systems, such as air conditioning, furnace, or boiler.
g)Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
h)Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.
i)Warn persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehend or evict violators from premises, using force when necessary.
j)Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other
persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.

e)Maintain personal appearance - Well groomed, good hygiene and in full uniform.
f)Ability to adapt easily to change, as well as prioritize effectively.
g)Maintain professionalism at all times with attention to customer service.
Reporting Line:
This position reports directly to the Site, Shift and/or Patrol Supervisor.

All Client information, emergency contact lists, Post Orders, patrol routes and routines, locations of physical security equipment a111d cameras, security complement, security personnel information as well as Paragon Protection Ltd operating procedures are to be considered private and confidential.
