This position is exclusively available through the 2025 Durham Region Refugee Hiring Event. To qualify for this opportunity, you must meet all of the following criteria:
Refugee or Forcibly Displaced Status:
Arrived in Canada as a refugee (government or private sponsorship).Applied for asylum after arriving in Canada (refugee claimant/asylum seeker).Were forcibly displaced from your country of origin (e.g., individuals from Ukraine, Afghanistan, Iran, and other affected regions).
Residency:
You currently live in Ontario. (Candidates living outside of Ontario/Canada will not be considered)
Event Attendance:
Be available to attend the in-person event in Ajax on April 2, 2025.
Work Eligibility:
Legally authorized to work in Canada (must possess a valid work permit, permanent residency, or Canadian citizenship).
Age Requirement:
Must be 18 years of age or older.

Job Summary:
The Power Systems Protection and Control Technician will perform the wiring, programing, troubleshoot protection and control systems as well as preparing construction/electrical drawings. Individual should be able to demonstrate working knowledge of the Electrical Power Distribution and Utility in the Province of Ontario. Will be required to work in the field and office on various medium and high voltage projects.
