Residency:
You currently live in Ontario. (Candidates living outside of Ontario/Canada will not be considered)

Work Eligibility:
Legally authorized to work in Canada (must possess a valid work permit, permanent residency, or Canadian citizenship).

Age Requirement:
Must be 18 years of age or older.

Job Title: Registered Practical Nurse
Status: Regular Full Time
Department: Medicine Float Pool

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to Manager of the LHO Medicine Float Pool, the successful candidate will be responsible for personal patient care, vital signs, physical assessment, administration of medications, monitoring IV's, monitoring telemetry, setting up medical equipment as appropriate and other duties as assigned. The RPN will participate as a member of the Float Pool, Multidisciplinary Team and the Nursing Team at the Oshawa site on Medicine program units. As an individual practitioner, the nurse will maintain competence and professionalism relevant to current practice. The nurse will be responsible for maintaining the health record according to hospital policy, procedure and standards.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and C.U.P.E Local 6364.

Successful External applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months.
