Eligibility Criteria for the 2025 Durham Region Refugee Hiring Event
This position is exclusively available through the 2025 Durham Region Refugee Hiring Event. To qualify for this opportunity, you must meet all of the following criteria:
Refugee or Forcibly Displaced Status:
Arrived in Canada as a refugee (government or private sponsorship).Applied for asylum after arriving in Canada (refugee claimant/asylum seeker).Were forcibly displaced from your country of origin (e.g., individuals from Ukraine, Afghanistan, Iran, and other affected regions).
Residency:
You currently live in Ontario. (Candidates living outside of Ontario/Canada will not be considered)
Event Attendance:
Be available to attend the in-person event in Ajax on April 2, 2025.
Work Eligibility:
Legally authorized to work in Canada (must possess a valid work permit, permanent residency, or Canadian citizenship).
Age Requirement:
Must be 18 years of age or older.

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Event Staff member to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up flower wall backdrops, marquee letters, and balloon decor at various events, as well as acting as a photo booth attendant. This position requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
