Welcome to the Durham Region Refugee Hiring Event Career Site.

About the event

This is a hiring event specifically for refugees and other displaced individuals where candidates are pre-screened and matched with employers for on-site interviews.  The event is in-person and will take place in Ajax on April 2nd.

The goal of the Durham Refugee Hiring Event is meaningful employment via action-oriented steps. Should you succeed, you will be provided: 

• A job offer, or 
• A second interview 
• Or be included in further hiring processes of the employers you interview with 

Eligibility criteria

You qualify to participate in the event if you are eligible to work in Canada and are:

• At least 18 years old
• Eligible to work in Canada (A valid open work permit, PR, or Citizenship)
• An individual displaced by war, including Ukrainian newcomers

How to apply

1. Review the different positions and apply up to 3 roles that you would like to interview for.
2. Once you apply to a position, we will assess your application. Please note that an application does not guarantee an interview.
3. If selected, we will contact you to participate in a mandatory preparation workshop.

Carefully review the job locations, as some opportunities may require relocation or commuting to another city within Ontario
